Case Study: Land Rover BAR Achieves ACWS Championship Success with PA Consulting

Land Rover BAR, the British sailing team competing in the America’s Cup World Series, needed an innovation edge to help turn advanced ideas into race-winning performance. PA Consulting partnered with the team to lead its Technical Innovation Group (TIG), helping source and apply technologies from outside sailing to improve boat dynamics, sensors and controls, and data and analytics.

PA Consulting brought together partners from multiple industries and supported rapid development of solutions such as 3D-printed titanium parts and bone conduction speakers. The approach helped Land Rover BAR win the final round in Fukuoka and become the 2015-2016 ACWS Champions, earning two vital bonus points ahead of the 2017 America’s Cup in Bermuda.
