Global Chemicals Group, a Fortune 500 company with a successful ingredients business for dietary supplements and food and drink products, wanted to expand into pharmaceuticals by creating a new venture for pharmaceutical-grade ingredients. PA Consulting helped Global Chemicals Group narrow more than 70 potential applications down to eight, identify the required product format and business model, assess the capabilities needed to operate in this new market, and partner on research sponsorship to build new IP. As a result, the board backed the move into pharmaceuticals, and the company is now investing tens of millions of euros in its R&D programme and partner search.
