PA Consulting worked with a Major Airline to review end-of-lease (EOL) maintenance and fleet transition planning. The airline needed to ensure its fleet and maintenance plans aligned with lease requirements, identify mismatches between maintenance schedules and lessor return conditions, and find ways to reduce costs while staying compliant.

PA Consulting analyzed each aircraft and engine, “flying forward” maintenance events to the end of lease, forecasting spend, and assessing reserve drawdowns and return-condition compensation. This led to reduced engine shop visits, a revised LLP replacement program, and clear negotiation strategies for lessors and maintenance providers, delivering total savings of more than $18 million across the fleet.
