Case Study: Stuffstr enables scalable sustainable retail operations with PA Consulting

Enabling an innovative circular economy business model in retail

Stuffstr, a retail technology start-up, needed to move quickly to support its circular fashion model while migrating its IT infrastructure away from a partner platform. The company, working with PA Consulting, was still processing items manually as it helped brands collect, refurbish and resell used clothing, creating delays, higher costs and a greater risk of error.

PA Consulting migrated Stuffstr’s Kubernetes production environment and RDS instances to AWS, then designed and built a fully serverless warehouse management system and mobile app for warehouse operators. The solution automated end-to-end warehousing processes, scaled production 100-fold in six weeks, and reduced costs and energy use by shutting servers down when not in use, helping Stuffstr expand its sustainable retail operations.
