Designing an innovative thermography system to diagnose serious heart problems

Thermocore Medical partnered with **PA Consulting** to develop a new diagnostic system for assessing patients’ likelihood of a sudden heart attack. The challenge was to create an innovative thermography-based solution that could detect and map small temperature variations inside the coronary arteries, helping identify vulnerable plaque, a major cause of sudden heart attack.

**PA Consulting** coordinated manufacturers, designers, and suppliers across Europe and the US, and led development of the core system component: a miniaturised, rapid exchange catheter. The catheter was made smaller than previous versions and included specially designed technology to make it easier and quicker to use, resulting in a more innovative and practical diagnostic system.
