PA Consulting worked with the UK Home Office, specifically the UK Visas & Immigration and Immigration Enforcement directorates, to address an inadequate existing cloud hosting platform. The challenge was to move critical visa and immigration services to a new cloud environment without disrupting public services.

PA Consulting designed and managed the transition to AWS, collaborating with Home Office teams and third-party suppliers from feasibility assessment through early-life support. The five-day switchover improved reliability and speed, enabled new capability releases in six minutes instead of a day, supported over a million cases a year, and saved £4 million annually by decommissioning older technology.
