Defining a 3-year strategy to develop one of the world’s most innovative medical societies

American College of Chest Physicians (CHEST) needed a 3-year growth strategy to help the medical society stay relevant as healthcare shifted toward more team-based, collaborative care. The organization wanted to continue supporting its nearly 19,000 members worldwide while remaining a global leader in chest medicine. PA Consulting partnered with CHEST to help define the direction for that strategy.

Over an intensive eight-week engagement, PA Consulting worked with CHEST leaders to refine ideas, build consensus, and shape a structured set of recommendations. The joint team generated 43 innovation opportunities, narrowed them to 11 priorities, and CHEST selected 3 actionable, achievable projects for implementation. As a result, CHEST now has a clear future strategy and a stronger position as an association known for innovative thinking.
