PA Consulting worked with the Swedish Transport Administration (Trafikverket) on a major programme to digitalise rail traffic management across Sweden’s 14,000 km rail network. The challenge was to move from paper-based processes to an automated system that could handle growing rail demand while keeping current operations running.

PA Consulting provided advice and support on the roll-out plan, process design, and organisation design needed for the transformation. PA Consulting also coordinated the different project elements to ensure alignment across stakeholders. As a result, the programme is on track, with stronger collaboration and communication in place to support a future system that will help planners forecast traffic more accurately, accommodate more trains, and respond to incidents more effectively.
