CRDC turns 0.5 tonnes of waste plastic into low-carbon concrete with PA Consulting

The Center for Regenerative Design & Collaboration (CRDC) aimed to address global plastic waste and concrete's carbon emissions by turning plastic into a concrete additive. They partnered with PA Consulting to scientifically validate their new product, RESIN8 CORE, and understand the mechanisms behind how it strengthens concrete and captures carbon.

PA Consulting implemented a collaborative, scientific approach, conducting extensive research and testing—including elemental analysis and microscopy—to understand the product's interaction with concrete at a fundamental level. This work provided CRDC with the crucial insights needed to optimize their process, confirming that their additive increases concrete strength while reducing its carbon load, and positioning them for global commercialization.
