AuE Kassel, a German engineering company serving major carmakers such as VW, Audi and GM, asked PA Consulting for help reducing costs and improving efficiency across its axle manufacturing projects. The business needed to stay competitive amid shorter lead times and growing pressure to deliver faster and more cost-effectively.

PA Consulting helped AuE Kassel improve cross-functional collaboration, introduce standard processes and reusable component libraries, and move procurement earlier to lower material costs without building excess inventory. The changes were implemented in five months and are expected to save €1m a year; AuE Kassel said the work paid for itself within six months through material savings.
