BAMA Gruppen saves 8 million NOK with PA Consulting’s award-winning logistics app

PA Consulting partnered with BAMA Gruppen, Norway's leading fruit and vegetable distributor, to address a challenge in its complex supply chain. The customer needed to optimize its logistics to reduce costs and improve sustainability, as its manual planning processes were inefficient for managing fresh produce from over 80 countries.

PA Consulting developed an award-winning application using Microsoft Azure technology, which automated transportation planning and leveraged an optimization algorithm. The solution empowered planners with data-backed decisions, resulting in significant cost savings of eight million NOK and a reduced carbon footprint. The app also won BAMA the Insight Prize 2023 for its contribution to sustainability.
