European Waste Management and Recycling Company destroys 4 PFAS compounds by more than 95% with Oxyle

A European waste management and recycling company faced the challenge of remediating PFAS-contaminated groundwater. While their existing system removed long-chain PFAS, they required an additional solution to destroy the remaining, more persistent short- and ultra-short-chain compounds to meet regulatory discharge limits. The company engaged Oxyle to conduct a technical validation study of its OxLight technology to address this specific need.

Oxyle implemented its OxLight photochemical reduction technology, which was tailored to the site's complex water matrix. The solution successfully destroyed the four targeted PFAS compounds, exceeding the required treatment targets by degrading concentrations to levels between 0.09 and 2.3 parts per billion. The positive results from Oxyle's study confirmed the technology's effectiveness and supported the recommendation to proceed with an on-site pilot.
