La Française Asset Management GRC, an independent multi-specialist asset management firm with more than €32 billion under management, needed to strengthen its Basel II-compliant internal control plan and manage both market risk and operational risk across five business units. It had identified more than 60 risk types and created 150 control checklists with hundreds of control points, and turned to OXIAL and its GRC SUITE software for a more controls-centric approach to risk management.

OXIAL implemented an integrated BlueRisk and BlueControl solution with support for risk modeling, incident tracking, alerts, reporting, and control monitoring, along with custom setup, integration, and training. The rollout first covered Level 2 controls, the incident database, and operational risk models, with Phase 2 planned for Level 1 controls and risk mapping. The result was a global, aggregated view of controls that improved reporting quality, helped raise the business group’s Alpha indicator, and supported a Fitch rating improvement, with 30% of the rating weighted by risk management.
