A Oxford Medical Simulation Case Study
The University of Manitoba faced a challenge in its lengthy international nurse recruitment and assessment process, which could take candidates 1-2 years to complete. To streamline this and provide a positive experience for nurses abroad, the university partnered with Oxford Medical Simulation to implement a virtual reality (VR) solution for its Clinical Competence Assessment Centre.
Using the Oxford Medical Simulation VR platform, the university provided remote, standardized, and objective clinical assessments. This solution allowed 103 nurses to be assessed virtually from locations like Ghana, Kenya, and the US, significantly reducing waiting times. The platform also provided valuable data for assessors and enabled continuous professional development for candidates, preparing them for the Canadian healthcare system before their move.
