Northumbria University, a large UK-based nursing program, faced the challenge of preparing over 500 second-year nursing students for practice. They needed to bridge the gap between theory and real-world application and provide essential hands-on experience efficiently within a one-week onboarding period. To meet this challenge, they partnered with Oxford Medical Simulation.

Oxford Medical Simulation worked with the university to create a custom four-week blended learning program. The solution integrated OMS's virtual reality simulations with traditional learning. The vendor's team provided on-the-ground support to successfully onboard all students, who went on to complete over 12,800 simulation sessions. The program was a major success, with 93% of students reporting they liked or strongly liked the OMS sessions, and it provided the equivalent of over 380 days of clinical experience.
