OnlineTours, the first and largest online travel agency in Russia, wanted to improve customer retention and re-engagement for its high-value travel services. Working with OWOX and its BI Pipeline, the company aimed to compare whether phone calls or emails would be more effective at converting interested website visitors into buyers.
OWOX helped OnlineTours build a data-driven personalization workflow using Google Analytics, Google BigQuery, ClickHouse, and email tokens to match user behavior with relevant tour offers. The email approach outperformed cold calls, delivering an 85% open rate, 65% click rate, and 15% conversion rate, while avoiding the heavy resource use of the call center.
