Case Study: IATA achieves robust data protection and safer, more flexible sandbox testing with OwnBackup

A OwnBackup Case Study

Preview of the IATA Case Study

IATA protects their data, and delivers a safer and more flexible dev environment for testing and training

The International Air Transport Association (IATA, the trade association for the world’s airlines) faced growing data risk as independent business units and consolidated systems shared information in Salesforce. This created concerns about conflicting changes, errors, slow and painful restores compared with native options, and the need for backup to meet audits such as ISO/IEC 27000-series. IATA also needed safer, more flexible sandbox data for realistic testing and training without risking production.

IATA implemented OwnBackup Recover and Enhanced Sandbox Seeding (ESBS): daily backups and fast recovery tools that reduce data‑loss risk and simplify compliance, plus ESBS to populate sandboxes with realistic, fully backed-up subsets that allow triggers and automations to run safely. The result is faster, less risky restores, smoother audit readiness, and a safer, more efficient development and training environment.
