U.S. Air Force automates parts inventory management with Owl Cyber Defense

The U.S. Air Force maintenance facility faced the challenge of automating the inventory management for its industrial parts vending machines without compromising its highly secure network architecture. To meet this need, they worked with vendor Owl Cyber Defense to implement a solution that would allow for automated data transfer while maintaining security.

Owl Cyber Defense deployed its OPDS-100 data diode to create a deterministic, one-way transfer of inventory data and purchase orders out of the secure network to third-party parts vendors. This solution from Owl preserved the facility's network security, enabled secure and automated data transfer, and replaced inefficient manual processes, which decreased the time required to repair and maintain aircraft.
