A oVirt Case Study
Judici, an organization providing online documentation and electronic filing for county courts in Illinois, faced the challenge of creating a complex storage solution for massive amounts of court documents while needing to meet strict PCI-DSS requirements for credit card transactions. This led them to initially use hardware-based virtualization before seeking a more manageable and flexible software-based solution from vendor oVirt.
The solution involved migrating their KVM-based virtual machines to the oVirt management platform, which offered the native Gluster storage support they required. The oVirt implementation manages eight hypervisors running over 40 VMs. As a result, Judici successfully supports public access to court data, handling 300,000-400,000 requests daily for 68 county courts, a significant expansion from its early capabilities.
