Alter Way, a French hosting and services company, needed a KVM-based management solution for its new public cloud offering. They evaluated several options, including OpenNebula and OpenStack, to find a platform that could meet their scalability and technical requirements for their H2O cloud service.

The vendor oVirt was selected for its ability to scale client workloads and its dependence on key features like memory ballooning. The results were successful, with over 300 client virtual machines being managed on the service shortly after its October 2012 launch. oVirt also provided the company with confidence due to its active community and strong vendor backing.
