The Hut Group, a UK-based e-commerce company operating more than 100 websites for beauty, lifestyle, sports, and wellness brands, needed a faster and more reliable disaster recovery approach. Its previous plan was slow, manual, and costly, with downtime potentially costing up to $560,000 per day. To meet growth, uptime, and local data sovereignty requirements, the company turned to OVHcloud and its vCloud Air powered by OVH service.

OVHcloud implemented asynchronous replication at the hypervisor layer through vCloud Air powered by OVH, replicating more than 850 virtual machines and supporting strict recovery targets while keeping production data in the U.K. The result cut recovery time from three days to three hours and saved The Hut Group more than $950,000 in capital expenditures, giving the business a scalable, compliant disaster recovery solution with minimal downtime.
