Connecting Fans to Soccer News

So Foot, a French soccer news media company, needed to prepare its website for major traffic spikes ahead of the 2014 FIFA World Cup. Its existing digital infrastructure was hosted on a single dedicated server, and the team lacked confidence that it could reliably handle the expected surge to more than 1 million daily page views and 500,000 unique visitors.

OVHcloud worked with SYSADMIN BADASS to deploy a scalable, highly available cloud architecture on OVHcloud infrastructure, using Public Cloud instances, OVH IP Load Balancing, Dedicated Servers with HAProxy, Munin monitoring, and Backup Storage. The solution supported up to 5,000 HTTP requests per second, kept the site 100% available during the World Cup, and helped So Foot handle a 300% increase in visits, leading the company to permanently adopt the OVHcloud-based setup.
