WoningNet Serves 1.3 Million Home Seekers Seven Times Faster

WoningNet is a shared service center for about 100 Dutch housing associations, serving 1.3 million home seekers with complex, region-specific eligibility and priority rules. Faced with a 16‑year‑old legacy stack and a busy central contact center, WoningNet needed to modernize its backend and deliver a mobile experience that would reduce calls, give applicants real‑time status updates, and streamline the property-matching process.

Working with OutSystems and partner Team Resilience, WoningNet ran a design sprint and built the DAK mobile app with a rearchitected WRB backend and a three‑month MVP cycle. Launched on iOS and Android, DAK offers 21 push alerts, single‑source multi‑region access, a 4.5‑star app store rating, and has made users over seven times faster to confirm interest—cutting processing times dramatically and reducing pressure on the contact center while enabling fast, secure roll‑out across regions.
