PowrKidz Improves Children’s Health and Wellbeing with OutSystems

PowrKidz is a UK digital start-up tackling a national childhood fitness and obesity problem by giving teachers a simple, engaging platform to deliver exercise classes, track wellbeing, and motivate pupils. With only one developer and a need for enterprise-grade security, scalability, and a fast time-to-market, the team needed a way to build a teacher-facing, device-agnostic app that could be deployed quickly across schools.

Using the OutSystems platform, a single developer built a reactive web app in less than six months, integrating school data via Wonde and reusable Forge components to deliver real-time reporting, notifications, and cross‑device UX. The platform launched to 20 schools (about 5,000 students and 700 teachers) with strong feedback, was rapidly extended with home-workout features during COVID, and proved ready to scale—saving significant development time and enabling plans for wearables and virtual workouts.
