Kobayashi Pharmaceutical, a leading Japanese maker of over‑the‑counter drugs, cosmetics and health products, faced slow, outsourced software delivery—often taking months—to support its Agile IT goals. Wanting to bring development in‑house but avoid the time and cost of building a large .NET team, the company evaluated platforms and chose OutSystems for its model‑driven approach, DevOps features, security and training that would empower both professional and business developers.

Kobayashi formed a small in‑house OutSystems team with a three‑month partner engagement to set standards, then rebuilt a sales analytics app to pull data from core systems, cutting data‑prep from nearly a day to an hour and moving reporting from weekly/monthly to near‑real‑time.
