Inchcape Shipping Services, which manages port calls across 2,500 ports worldwide and handles more than 1,000 port calls per month for its two largest customers, needed to retire a legacy costing system (PASP) while migrating customers to a new core platform (Optic). The existing BLT (BaseLine Template) costing process relied on emailed Excel templates and manual verification, making it slow, error-prone and unmeasurable—so Inchcape had to deliver a replacement within six months to avoid disruption.
Using a co‑delivery model with OutSystems and systems integrator Hexaware, Inchcape built a web portal and end‑to‑end digital BLT workflow in roughly 10–13 weeks, with API integration into Optic. The solution centralized data, removed Excel/email delays, added dashboards and alerts, and improved UX and data quality—halving BLT estimation time, improving SLA compliance and enabling Hexaware to take full ownership for future enhancements.
