Inchcape Delivers Real-time Information and Transparency to Customers with OutSystems

Inchcape Shipping Services, a global port agent operating across 2,500 ports with more than 240 offices in 68 countries, needed to modernize a traditionally local, paper‑heavy industry. The company’s challenge was to standardize and deliver transparent, real‑time port call information across widely varying local regulations and customer needs while accelerating feature delivery—hand‑coding could not keep up with rising demand for integration, consistency, and faster time to market.

Inchcape adopted the OutSystems low‑code platform to build One‑DA (One Disbursement Account), integrating quickly with its enterprise service bus and master data systems and delivering the first iteration in under four months via two agile scrum teams. The result was roughly three times faster delivery and much greater agility, a rapid global rollout (68 countries, ~1,500 users in 2021), real‑time multi‑channel visibility and ERP integrations for customers, faster reconciliation, and stronger trust and competitive positioning.
