Global Wine Company Sogrape Digitalizes Viticulture and Manufacturing Processes with OutSystems

Sogrape, a leading Portuguese family-owned wine company with vineyards and brands across Europe and the Americas, faced inefficiencies from manual processes and a 15-year-old Oracle Forms harvesting system that lacked SAP integration and was reaching end-of-life. Without end-to-end visibility, teams struggled to manage up to 40,000 tons of grapes per vintage, coordinate resources, and avoid duplicate data entry.

Working with Deloitte, Sogrape built WICO on the OutSystems low-code platform—five developers delivered an end-to-end vineyard-to-bottling system in seven months with integrations to Omron IoT sensors, LabWare, SAP, and regulatory systems. The result: faster, more agile operations, real-time production insights, full process visibility and control, reduced manual work, and a foundation for future innovations like consumer mobile apps.
