Global Law Firm CMS Builds Mobile Knowledge Management App for 1,500 Lawyers with OutSystems

CMS, a Top‑10 global law firm operating across 75 offices and 17 member firms, faced a fragmented IT landscape after multiple mergers that made it hard to act as one organization. The corporate/M&A practice asked IT to deliver a mobile collaboration tool to help lawyers find expertise and share knowledge more easily across the firm.

Using the OutSystems low‑code platform, CMS built the “My CMS” mobile and web app in five months, including a backend integration layer to connect multiple data sources. The app—initially for 1,500 corporate/M&A lawyers—has seen strong adoption, easier content management and up-to-date information; CMS plans a firmwide rollout to ~8,000 staff, is extending OutSystems to other internal and client-facing apps, and expects faster development and lower costs.
