TAP Portugal needed to improve flight dispatch operations, where Flight Operations Officers were spending too much time monitoring hundreds of messages from multiple systems and manually keeping flight plans current for safety and efficiency. Using OutSystems, TAP and its IT arm Megasis built the Flight Dispatch Control Center to replace the interruption-based working model and give dispatchers better visibility into flight events.
OutSystems enabled the delivery of a 360º dashboard that aggregates and prioritizes operational alerts, monitors flights scheduled to depart in the next 12 hours, and logs all events for quick review. The solution went live in 11 months and reached 100% user adoption within weeks, supporting 6,000 flight legs and 180,000 notifications per month, while reducing human error, minimizing operational risk, and improving efficiency and safety compliance.
