De Mandemakers Groep’s Custom-Fit Mobile App Saves Time and Eliminates Kitchen Design Errors

De Mandemakers Groep (DMG) is a major Dutch retailer of kitchens, bathrooms, and furniture with around 3,000 employees across 250 stores and multiple brands. Its small central IT team, maintaining a bespoke ERP and about 25 applications, needed to become more agile and reduce time-consuming, paper-heavy field processes—especially in the measuring department where fitters handled multiple documents per visit, scanned and emailed them from home, and created error-prone manual ERP entries.

DMG selected OutSystems with partner Synobsys to speed development, delivering a retail app in three weeks and a mobile app for fitters that digitized measurements, checklists, photos, and pricing. The result: fitters no longer scan or email documents, errors are reduced via in-app checks, customer confirmations are sent immediately, and the company saves roughly 3,000 hours a year (about 1.6 FTE), cutting daily overtime and improving customer experience.
