Container Centralen Improves Supply Chain Efficiency and Visibility with Mobile RFID Scanner App

Container Centralen (CC) is the owner of Europe’s largest Reusable Transport Item (RTI) pooling system, serving 20,000 horticulture customers and managing over 4 million RFID‑tagged items across 70 depots. When CC’s Windows Embedded Handheld scanners neared end‑of‑life, the company faced a six‑month “burning platform” to select new devices and build custom scanning software that would preserve inventory visibility and depot operations.

CC chose OutSystems with partner Quatronic, delivering a four‑week POC and an MVP that moved to production within months. The custom mobile RFID scanner (with offline support and LogLink integration) sped up and simplified scanning, recorded configurations, discrepancies and damaged items, enabled stocktaking and repair orders, reduced disputes and billing surprises, and created a flexible platform for ongoing innovation.
