Brisa develops an employee directory system, integrated with 4 central systems, in 5 weeks

Brisa, a Portuguese toll motorway concessionaire operating over 1,000 km and listed on Euronext, needed a company-wide Employee Directory to support a dispersed workforce of nearly 2,000 people. Employee data was held across five different entities and multiple heterogeneous systems with no synchronization or central access, forcing staff to rely on manually compiled, outdated phone lists.

Using the OutSystems Platform, Brisa delivered an integrated Employee Directory in five weeks, connecting to four central systems (including SAP, Active Directory and Documentum), adding an online back-office for centralized data entry and exposing Web, WAP and SMS interfaces for real-time queries. The project produced reusable integrations, reduced operational costs and time-to-market, and supported rapid tuning (10 production versions in one week), giving employees instant, ubiquitous access to up-to-date contact and role information.
