Brisa, Portugal’s leading toll motorway concessionaire operating over 1,000 km of motorways, needed to replace its revenue consolidation system to aggregate billing from more than 700 tollbooths. The goals were to create an easy-to-operate, maintainable system that automatically verifies, aggregates and posts all revenue data with minimal human intervention, and to deliver the fully automated solution within an aggressive four-month timeline.

Using the OutSystems platform, Brisa built a centralized SIP system that integrates tollbooth files and external data sources, automatically consolidates and verifies data, sends error notifications with direct correction links, and provides controllers with validation tools to spot billing deviations. Delivered in 16 weeks, the solution now processes 265,000 transactions daily, controls 100% of information, reduces month‑closing effort by 75%, improves data quality and completeness, and supports fraud and hardware-failure detection.
