Flyability cuts inspection time to minutes with Ouster

Flyability, a Swiss company, builds collision-tolerant drones for inspecting hazardous industrial environments like boilers, mine shafts, and storage tanks. Their challenge was obtaining measurable data from these GPS-denied spaces, which traditionally required sending people inside—a process that was expensive, dangerous, and produced incomplete records.

Ouster provided its OS0 digital lidar as the solution, a sensor with an ultra-wide field of view that enables 3D mapping and navigation on Flyability's Elios 3 drone. This allowed inspections that once took a full shift to be completed in minutes, with coverage rising from roughly half to nearly all of a space. The solution delivered documented savings of up to six figures per site and produced measurable 3D data for dimensional analysis instead of just photographic records.
