A Otus Case Study
Norwalk Public Schools, a district of 11,000 students, needed to transition to a more data-driven culture but faced a significant challenge. Their educators were trying to use data to inform instruction, but the process was cumbersome and lacked standardization. Data was scattered across multiple, disconnected systems, making it difficult for teachers and administrators to get a unified view of student performance and needs, which hindered effective decision-making.
The district implemented Otus as a centralized platform to unify all its student data, including state tests, NWEA, DIBELS, attendance, and grades. Otus provided a single location for educators to seamlessly evaluate performance and make ongoing data-driven decisions. The solution fostered a holistic understanding of students by also integrating social-emotional data from surveys. This shift created a more efficient, accessible, and interpretable data environment, ensuring every decision is backed by insights to support each child. Educators reported positive feedback on the platform's value after overcoming the initial learning curve.
