Otter.ai helped UC Davis move from a volunteer-dependent process to a more reliable system that could support all students who needed the service. Students particularly valued the live transcription, real-time captions, and ability to stay focused on lectures while the app handled note taking. The impact was strong enough that Otter became one of UC Davis’s most used accommodations, and the university later expanded its use for remote learning and broader campus needs.
