Washington River Protection Solutions Easing Compliance with the PI System
Washington River Protection Solutions (WRPS) manages the Hanford Site Tank Farms, home to 56 million gallons of radioactive and chemical waste, and operates under strict federal and state environmental oversight. WRPS’s operations were hampered by scattered, custom control systems, paper-based field readings and isolated databases, making compliance reporting slow, error-prone and difficult to use for timely decision making.
WRPS deployed the OSIsoft PI System to consolidate legacy systems into a central automated repository, using PI Interfaces to capture sensor data and the PI Manual Logger to digitize manual rounds. The result was more reliable, real-time data and ubiquitous access across the site, faster and simpler compliance reporting, improved operational visibility for decision-makers, and reduced developer and IT effort.
