OSIsoft's Connected Services Enables Flowserve's Global Rotating Equipment Monitoring Solutions

Flowserve, a global manufacturer of pumps and rotating equipment, faced the industry-wide challenge of reducing costly unplanned downtime and evolving its aftermarket services through IIoT and remote monitoring. With customers demanding greater reliability and faster, data-driven support, Flowserve needed a scalable, secure way to capture field data and turn it into actionable intelligence across global sites.

Working with OSIsoft and partners, Flowserve deployed IPS Wireless sensors with the PI System for real-time data collection, asset analytics, notifications and a hosted collaboration platform—plus augmented-reality tools to speed field diagnostics. The solution let engineers detect a foreign object that would have caused 10–14 days of downtime and about $650,000 in losses, while enabling ongoing improvements in uptime, proactive maintenance and expanded connected-service offerings.
