Anglo American’s Copper Business in Chile, a major producer of copper, faced a challenge: critical operational and environmental data lived in scattered systems and was available to only a few people, making it difficult to standardize best practices, respond in real time, and improve production efficiency while reducing water, energy use and emissions.

To fix this, Anglo American signed an Enterprise Agreement with OSIsoft and deployed the PI System and PI Asset Framework across its Chile operations, giving employees real-time access via PI ProcessBook and PI DataLink. Democratizing data let operators and engineers visualize and compare performance (production, energy, water, quality, emissions), share lessons across sites, boost collaboration and ownership, and drive measurable process and planning improvements.
