Kruger Products launches digital twin in 2021 with OSEDEA to boost heavy machinery quality

Kruger Products, a leading Canadian tissue manufacturer, faced the challenge of maintaining excellent quality control and preventing costly misalignments across three lines of heavy paper machinery at its Sherbrooke plant. To empower its operators and performance team, Kruger Products partnered with vendor OSEDEA to revamp its existing "Setpoint Tuning Tool" into a more advanced, data-driven solution.

OSEDEA developed a new in-house software solution featuring a visual interface that leverages real-time data and data science to show machine operations with high precision. The solution included an interactive map, trend graphs, and a built-in troubleshooting guide, which improved communication between teams and optimized operator reaction time. The successful tool, now in production, is planned for global rollout with the goal of reducing training time for new hires due to its intuitive design.
