Schaeffler, a global automotive and industrial supplier, faced the challenge of providing digital information for its largely analog automotive aftermarket products. Workshop employees, end customers, and authorities increasingly expected instant, accessible digital data and product verification. To address this, Schaeffler partnered with vendor osapiens (via its oneIDentity+ service platform) to implement a system of unique, serialized QR codes on its product packaging.

The solution, named Schaeffler OneCode, was implemented using osapiens' oneIDentity+ serialization engine to generate and manage unique identities for each product. This allowed users to scan a code with a smartphone to instantly access product information, verify authenticity, and collect loyalty points. The results were significant, with osapiens generating and activating almost 200,000 product codes daily for global use, and enabling digital access for more than 40,000 items. This provided a high-performance foundation for Schaeffler's future digital services.
