Music Company Modernizes Legacy Platform for OroCRM

GVL (Gesellschaft zur Verwertung von Leistungsschutzrechten), a German rights-collecting society representing artists, sound producers and event organizers, faced a 2015 mandate to modernize legacy systems under its BEAT17 program to meet EU collective rights management requirements and compete internationally. The organization needed a centralized CRM to consolidate master data, partner workflows and customer management, and selected OroCRM’s open source solution to replace fragmented, legacy processes.

OroCRM implemented a responsive, Symfony/PHP-compatible CRM (extended by partner DMK) using PostgreSQL and Elasticsearch, plus a Bootstrap-based front end to make CRM content accessible across devices. Launched in 2017, the project consolidated previously separate customer processes into a single system accessible by all relevant staff, improved operational efficiency, enabled bi-weekly scrum rollouts of new CRM features, and added integrations for email and postal services—establishing OroCRM (with DMK) as GVL’s ongoing technology partner.
