Petra Industries Takes Their Customers' Digital Experience to the Next Level with OroCommerce

Petra Industries, a major distributor of consumer technology products to thousands of retail and e‑tail partners, outgrew its legacy B2C‑oriented platform and needed a scalable, flexible B2B commerce solution. Petra turned to OroCommerce to replace a patchwork of add‑ons that couldn’t support faster onboarding, B2B cart functionality, efficient order management/fulfillment, and more personalized marketing.

OroCommerce delivered a new PetraCentral B2B portal in eight months, integrating MDS ERP and Akeneo PIM and using Oro’s APIs to enable automated customer registration (with Bectran credit approval), quick order forms/CSV uploads, personalized carts, multi‑login accounts with approval workflows, and combined analytics from Enhanced Ecommerce and OroCRM for a 360° customer view. These changes sped onboarding, improved self‑service and fulfillment, and gave sales and marketing the data to run targeted campaigns; Petra plans to further leverage OroCommerce (including its built‑in search) to move 100% of B2B customers online.
