Summit Hospitality Group, a hotel management and consulting firm operating multiple Marriott, Hilton, and Hyatt properties in North Carolina, needed a better way to coordinate staff across three adjacent Crabtree Raleigh hotels and their shuttle service. Front desk teams often struggled to track down maintenance workers and other staff moving between properties, causing delays in guest service. Summit turned to Orion Labs and its voice platform, including push-to-talk and direct messaging capabilities, to solve the communication gap.
Orion Labs deployed device-agnostic push-to-talk services and direct messaging, initially for front desk representatives and shuttle drivers and then expanding to maintenance, housekeeping, and management. The solution made cross-property collaboration fast and easy, eliminated range issues, and simplified onboarding through smartphone app downloads and durable DaaS devices. Summit reported immediate staff buy-in and faster response times, with one example showing front desks able to instantly direct a guest to the correct hotel instead of making multiple calls.
