Scottsdale Health Partners - Customer Case Study

Scottsdale Health Partners, a physician‑led clinical integration network serving over 40,000 patients in Scottsdale, Arizona, needed an open‑standards, clinician‑friendly health information exchange to connect more than 40 different EMR systems across 700+ physicians, support ambulatory care workflows, meet evolving regulatory requirements, and enable population health management. After a multi‑year review, Scottsdale Health Partners selected Orion Health (deploying solutions including Orion Health Amadeus, Orion Health MSSP Management and Orion Health Coordinate) to provide a scalable, open‑API platform and HIE infrastructure.

Orion Health implemented an open‑architecture population health platform with single sign‑on access, timeline views, real‑time alerts and secure messaging integration, plus custom census reporting and care transition notifications to support care coordination and ambulatory management. As a result, Scottsdale Health Partners earned Medicare ACO status and achieved measurable improvements: nearly $3.75 million in Medicare Shared Savings, Medicare Advantage cost reductions of 14.5% (and 5% for a commercial payer), a drop in readmission rates to 9% (vs. Arizona’s 12–15%), Medicare Advantage star ratings rising from 2.65 to 3.94, and $1.8 million saved (10%) for a self‑funded commercial plan with $900,000 in shared savings — outcomes delivered via Orion Health’s platform.
