Case Study: MSGIA improves underwriting and claims management with Origami Risk

A Origami Risk Case Study

Preview of the MSGIA Case Study

Montana Schools Group Insurance Authority teams with Origami Risk to increase productivity and effectiveness

The Montana Schools Group Insurance Authority (MSGIA), a self-funded insurance pool for Montana school districts, faced challenges with an inefficient, manual underwriting process and cumbersome claims data capture. This led to data inaccuracies, slow reporting, and difficulties in premium allocation. To modernize its operations, MSGIA partnered with Origami Risk and implemented its cloud-based risk management information system (RMIS).

Working with Origami Risk, MSGIA automated workflows, consolidated member data into a single database, and introduced new technology-based reporting tools. The results included a dramatic reduction in the time needed to generate reinsurance reports—from two weeks to minutes—and the elimination of human error through automated processes. MSGIA gained access to enhanced data analytics and real-time information, which improved the accuracy of its premium ratings and enhanced its overall risk management services.
