Big Consultancy partnered with Crowdcube, the equity crowdfunding platform, to solve a common marketing challenge: turning costly customer acquisition into repeat engagement, higher lifetime value and more investor conversions. The team needed to deliver truly personalised communications at scale across email, mobile and social, overcoming the limits of broad segmentation and simple product-basket recommendations.

Big Consultancy implemented a hyper-personalisation solution using collaborative filtering fed by behavioural and campaign data stored in a graph database (OrientDB) to generate individualised recommendations and messages. The results were strong — routine click-through-rate lifts of ~25%, with one test showing a 56% CTR uplift and £8.26 vs £0.22 invested per email recipient — driving materially more investment into Crowdcube listings.
