Although the RDBMS could store large volumes of phone, location, and social data, costly joins, slow query responses, and long development cycles made detecting complex, multi-dimensional fraud patterns infeasible.

To fix this, 99Bill piloted and deployed OrientDB Enterprise with partner Mi-Me, modeling users, locations and relationships as graph/document records and running distributed read/write servers with asynchronous sync.
