European Broadcasting Union maps 50 skills areas in 2 months with Orgvue

The European Broadcasting Union (EBU), a leading alliance of public service media organizations, faced the challenge of adapting its workforce to radical industry disruption. To become fit for the future, the EBU needed to identify and bridge critical skill gaps across its member organizations as part of its Vision2020 transformation. It turned to the vendor Orgvue and its organizational design platform to build a future-proof competency framework and analyze its workforce.

Using Orgvue, the EBU mapped 50 to 70 key roles to 400 positions and analyzed 50 skills areas to quantify the gap between current and required skillsets. This enabled impactful, data-driven investment decisions for workforce development. The solution provided a flexible, centralized skills repository, allowing the EBU to roll out this model to its 73 member organizations and sustainably manage future workforce transformation.
